Overview

Why choose the Electroheat ECO-VS

The Electroheat ECO-VS is Waterco's newest WIFI inverter heat pump. A Mitsubishi DC inverter compressor and an innovative centrifugal fan deliver quiet, efficient heating and cooling, while the end-venting airflow reduces the ventilation clearance it needs — so it fits locations other heat pumps can't. A high Coefficient of Performance (COP) keeps running costs down, and heating, cooling and Auto modes are controlled from a touch panel or the app.

Low-clearance design

An innovative centrifugal fan turns air 90° and vents it out the sides, cutting the ventilation clearance it needs.

Ultra-quiet

Advanced sound-absorbing materials dramatically reduce noise — 36–51 dBA at one metre.

High efficiency

A high COP and triple-layer evaporator capture more heat per kilowatt, keeping electricity bills down.

Heats and cools

Heating, cooling and Auto modes hold your pool at a comfortable temperature for longer.

WIFI control

Set and monitor your pool from the app, with a Mitsubishi DC inverter compressor at its core.

Cold-climate ready

Automatic hot-gas de-icing keeps it heating when the weather turns cold.

The technology

How a pool heat pump works

A heat pump doesn’t burn fuel to make heat — it moves it. It draws warmth from the air and concentrates it into your pool, using a fraction of the energy of gas or electric heating.

Draws heat from the air

A fan pulls outside air across the evaporator, where refrigerant absorbs the latent heat — even on cool days.

Compressor raises the heat

The compressor concentrates that warmth to a much higher, usable temperature.

Transfers it to your water

Pool water passes through the titanium heat exchanger and picks up the heat from the refrigerant.

Warms the pool, then repeats

The warmed water returns to the pool and the refrigerant cycles back for more — around the clock.

Why inverter

Inverter vs fixed-speed

Inverter technology is what makes this heat pump efficient and quiet. Here’s how it compares to an older fixed-speed unit.

Inverter (this unit)

Efficient & quiet

A variable-speed compressor speeds up to reach temperature quickly, then eases back to hold it — saving an estimated 15–30% and running far more quietly, with no temperature swings.

Fixed-speed

Older technology

A fixed-speed compressor runs flat-out then switches off, cycling on and off to hold temperature. That uses more power, makes more noise and lets the water temperature drift.

What's in the system

Key components

  • 01

    Titanium heat exchanger

A dual-coil titanium exchanger transfers heat to your water and resists salt and chlorinated water for a long service life.

  • 02

    Mitsubishi DC inverter compressor

A premium variable-speed compressor delivers efficient, quiet, precisely-controlled heating and cooling.

  • 03

    Blue-fin evaporator

A large, hydrophilic blue-fin evaporator captures more heat from the air and adds corrosion protection — ideal for coastal sites.

  • 04

    WIFI touch control

A touch panel plus app control, with heating, cooling and Auto modes.

  • 05

    Weatherproof cabinet

A UV-resistant, sound-dampened cabinet rated for outdoor installation keeps operation quiet and durable.

  • 06

    Centrifugal fan

An aerodynamically optimised centrifugal fan reduces the clearance the unit needs and keeps it quiet.

Tailored to your pool

Installation, step by step

1

Site assessment

Your Zane dealer checks the equipment area for airflow clearance, a level base and suitable power, plus the run to your pool’s plumbing.

2

Sizing to your pool

The unit is sized to your pool volume, climate, how you use it and whether you run a cover — so it’s neither under- nor over-powered.

3

Professional installation

Trained technicians connect the plumbing and power, commission the unit and set it up on the control panel or app.

Keeping it running well

Low maintenance, long life

Keep airflow clear

Keep the space around the unit clear of leaves and obstructions so it can breathe and run efficiently.

Annual service

A yearly check by a qualified technician keeps the unit running at peak efficiency and catches anything early.

Pool chemistry & a cover

Balanced water protects the titanium exchanger, and a pool cover markedly cuts running costs, especially in cooler months.
